Meet the Artist

Dandora is a DMV-based contemporary artist whose work delves into themes of identity, memory, and cultural duality. Raised by West African parents with traditional beliefs, she often found herself navigating the disconnect between the values instilled at home and the realities of American society. That contrast led her to create her own path, one rooted in self-discovery, creativity, and visual storytelling.

Her paintings are bold, emotional, and layered with personal history. With a foundation in art education from institutions like Pratt Institute and Bowie State University, and recognition including the Princeton University Trash Art Award.

Dandora uses her work to bridge cultures and honor complexity. Through exhibitions, workshops, and community engagement, her art invites reflection on the moments that shape us—and preserves them as powerful, lasting images
